Jeremy Donovan


Jeremy Donovan is a Kuku-Yalanji (Western Yalanji) and Gumbaynngirr Man from the First Nations of Far North Queensland and the mid North Coast of NSW.  

Jeremy is a highly respected member of the Indigenous community. He is fast becoming recognised as an influential voice and passionate advocate for Indigenous education and employment.  

In September 2015 Jeremy stepped down from his role as Chief Executive Officer for GenerationOne, and relaunched his business ‘Walking With Wisdom’, an Indigenous consultancy. 

Jeremy has a wealth of experience working with young Indigenous men at risk, teaching and encouraging them to embrace their culture as they search for identity and overcome adversity, with a complete dream and focus on ending the disparity between Indigenous and non Indigenous Australians through education and employment. 

With his leadership and knowledge recognised on both a national and international level, Jeremy’s advice has been sought by a number of national leaders.

Jeremy also supported his Holiness the Dalai Lama in 2011 and in 2013 as his Australian Ambassador.  

Jeremy is a highly respected keynote speaker, winning Australian Speaker of the Year in 2011.  

A talented musician and artist, Jeremy has shared his connection to his ancient culture with thousands of people around the world.  

Jeremy also works with other organisations working towards symbolic and practical reconciliation, including the Healing Foundation (as Champion), and Australian Literacy and Numeracy Foundation (as Ambassador).
